Wilmington OH – The Ohio Mile
On June 2, 2012, Mark E. Dotson set out to make it in the
record books at The Wilmington Mile and beat the existing 206mph record in the
Modified 1350CC class. Early in the morning, he launched hard on his Brocks
sponsored 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa. First gear wasn’t pretty when the rev limiter
was pegged, but after that was sorted out and the spray came on, the bike was
on a solid pass to lay down a great number. Crossing the traps at 211mph, Mark
had eclipsed the standing record.
This record beating run not only gave him the record but it
also put him in the 200mph club! To be a member of the club, you must beat an
existing record above 200mph.
Thanks to Brocks Performance with their great products and technical
expertise, Mark E. Dotson is poised to keep on setting records and better the
218mph record that was set at Maxton in 2004.
